Purpose

Lyf Ready is committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for all young people who engage with our services.

Scope

This policy applies to all communications, content, and interactions carried out through Lyf Ready.

Our Role

Lyf Ready provides practical life skills guidance and information.

We do not provide:

·        Counselling

·        Therapy

·        Crisis intervention

·        Medical advice

·        Legal advice

·        Financial advice

Respect and Safety

All users should be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Safeguarding Concerns

Although Lyf Ready is not a counselling service, safeguarding concerns may occasionally arise.

Examples include:

·        Physical abuse

·        Sexual abuse

·        Neglect

·        Exploitation

·        Serious self-harm concerns

·        Serious threats to personal safety

If a safeguarding concern is identified, Lyf Ready may:

·        Encourage the young person to speak with a parent, guardian, teacher, or trusted adult

·        Signpost the young person to appropriate support services

·        Take reasonable steps to protect someone from serious harm where possible including notifying relevant authorities and emergency services

Communication Boundaries

Lyf Ready will:

·        Maintain professional and respectful communication

·        Keep discussions focused on practical life skills and guidance

·        Avoid inappropriate personal relationships or dependency

Lyf Ready will not:

·        Request unnecessary personal information

·        Arrange private in-person meetings with young people

·        Engage in inappropriate or personal relationships with users

Confidentiality

Communications are treated with respect and discretion.

However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where there is a concern that someone may be at risk of serious harm.

Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains appropriate and effective.
